This afternoon, while in Chiang Dao, we traveled to Baan Mitratorn, an orphanage for children with HIV/AIDs or who have undergone some unfortunate in their lives. This orphanage currently has 35 children who reside there. It was founded in 1998 and opened in 1999. Baan Mitratorn is run by the Catholic Church and it raises the children to become good citizens in society and manage their disease states. We were able to see the medication room where the children go to get their medications each day, the learning center, and the bedrooms.
